Some of the links on this forum allow SMF, at no cost to you, to earn a small commission when you click through and make a purchase. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
Welcome to Michigan. Sorry I don’t have an answer to your question.
I have also been look at stick burners. In particular a Lonestar. They offer 1/4”, 1/2”, and insulated fire boxes. Being in Michigan all the smokers seemed to be built down south so shipping is expensive.
Are you guys thinking about meeting at an actual game?
If so, we could meet at the MSU vs. U of M game in Ann Arbor this year. Then you don't have to choose.
Chris
I have a 025 and really like it. I bought it for the charcoal store. Never had any problems with it.
I don't know how to contact anyone at the charcoal store though so I bought my PG500 directly from Cookshack.
Have you checked wood stove dealers. I have seen that rope sold by the yard in different diameters at those places. For instance there is a place in Chelsea that sells it.
I follow Cookshack on Facebook. They seem very much like a big family run business and they post a lot of pictures of the employees. Every time I use my SM-025 I think about those pictures of the people who hand crafted my smoker.
Taking these to a fireworks party tonight. The bottom rack are fresh from the butcher and the top is frozen from Meijer. Using a fast eddy rib rub minus the allspice.
