    Furtado Farms pellets

I've been using them for a few months now and am happy with the results, but they are the only pellets I have used so I can not compare them to other brands.

    Birthday party time!

Sounds like it's going to be a great time, I would put up with crying babies and fighting kids for an awesome meal like that.

    First Tri Tip attempt.......and fail

The recipe said to pull at 135 and wrap in foil while turning the temp to high then to put it back on for 4 minutes per side. I tried to cut against the grain and did switch direction when I hit the other part but I may have got it a bit wrong. I may try a marinade next time.

    First Tri Tip attempt.......and fail

Tried Tri Tip today for the first time, and it didn't turn out very well. I followed the Traeger Smoked Tri Tip recipe on their app, flavor was good but some parts were very chewy. Oh well next time.

First Smoke on Pro 34 (pork back ribs)

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention that I glaze them with a slightly modified version of Jeff's sauce.

First Smoke on Pro 34 (pork back ribs)

Finally got the chance to put some meat on my new Traeger, did some pork back ribs I picked up from Costco. Definitely less smoke flavor than my UDS but they were good. I like cutting them up so when I braise them they fit in the pan better. I put 2 ambient temperature probes in to see if there...

    Traeger Pro Series 34

That's a good idea sweetride, my first cook I was planning on putting in the 2 ambient probes from my iGrill and the 2 from my FireBoard just to check general temp differences. Richard I've been thinking up some ideas :emoji_wink: 5Grillz I've been doing a lot of smoking this year so far, just...

    Traeger Pro Series 34

Unfortunately I've got stuff planned every night this week so it is going to be loooong, but I'm thinking of maybe some chicken wings Friday night, ribs Saturday and tri-tip Sunday.

    Traeger Pro Series 34

Thanks guys, I managed to get the burn in done between rain storms on Sunday so this coming weekend I'll be good to go. I've got some tri-tip in the freezer that I'll take out to do.

    Traeger Pro Series 34

Picked up a new grill today, my first pellet smoker. Got it assembled in about 45 minutes by myself, went together easy. Unfortunately it's raining here today so I won't be doing the burn in, hopefully tomorrow. I also picked up some Furtado pellets on a recommendation from the sales person and...

    Furtado Farms pellets

Just wondering if anyone has used the Furtado Farms pellets in their pellet smokers? I have used their wood chunks in my UDS but I'm seriously thinking about buying a pellet smoker soon and was looking into pellets as well. It says they are made in Ontario but ship Canada wide, would be nice to...

    PitBoss Vertical

I was just looking at one of those in the store yesterday, looking forward to see your review and smoke session.

    Briskets in the GTA

Until recently I have never found briskets in my local Costco on a regular basis and when I did there were only 2 or 3 to choose from. Well 2 weeks ago I walked through a Costco Business Center and they had a shelf full of them. I have been back 2 more times and it seems like this is a regular...

    Jeffs bbq sauce

When I make it I put all the wet ingredients into the pot first then add everything else then I put it on the stove. I have even mixed it all together in the pot and put it in the fridge overnight and heated it the next day as I had to run out for an emergency beer drinking session and it tasted...

    Multiprobe thermometer

I just recently got a Fireboard, I've only used it about 5 times but love it. It is WiFi connected so when your phone is out of Bluetooth range you can still see the temps. A couple of weeks ago I had to do a run to the grocery store and could see where my temps were from there. It has 6 inputs...

    Pork Tenderloin

Thanks guys. I am so excited and happy about making the carousel, only difficult thing has been explaining to people who don't know about it what it is.
