    Holy Crap!!

I'm in S/W. MI. This "lake effect" snow is suppose to run for another day at least. Gotta love it.

    Holy Crap!!

And it's only the 12th. of November. Yesterday we got 5"s, that's a walk in the park BUT overnite we picked-up another 10 1/4 of new stuff measured on my old Brinkman grill. Sure am glad both of my pits are safe in the garage.

    Lest We Forget

Over the last couple of days I've been reading all the different foods that people are planning on cooking today. With beef, pork and poultry, smoked/grilled with exotic preparations and seasonings and most vegetable rapped in and bacon and drinking fancy beers. With the years starting to build...

It's been awhile since I've used it.

I agree BUT w/ the vast amount of dry leaves and brush on my property, and the strong winds of late, I'd be concerned about turning S/M Mi. into CA.

    Sometimes its the simple things

Years ago I heard this definition of labor, KISS, keep it simple, stupid. It's the little things in life that makes it so worth living. Love the fire pit, all I have is a brush-pile.

It's been awhile since I've used it.

Neighbor stopped by and ask if I was still willing to smoke about 10# of assorted chesses, yep, just gotta clean my CharGriller first. I haven't done pound-one of cheese on my Hy-Bred pit yet but a couple of hundreds pounds on my off-set so I've got it down pat. Rolled the CG outside for...

    Anybody cooking this weekend ?

Nothing for me this weekend. Did a "give away" butt the other day and got a little zap off the shelf bracket. Checked all the hardware and tracked it back to bad underground cable from house to garage. It's gotta stop raining and blowing so this old man can get out there and make repairs.

    Pellet Smoking Meat in Winter?

No blanket for me. My pit lives and works inside my garage, 35 paces out the door. Last year here in S/W MI. at -27* American, two ft of fresh snow and a healthy breeze, it took me longer to suit up than it did to go out and adjust my pit. I'm only 69.

    Farming season has ended

Thank you, I've tried the pepper/vinegar a couple of times, I just don't care for it. But then again I think cole slaw is a side dish.:emoji_wink:

    Farming season has ended

Well my 1st. long cook (12 1/2 hrs.) on my Hy-Bred pit is in the books and I'm quite pleased. The new Alpha controller did just what it was advertised to do. 8hrs on mode 2 for the smoke and 4hrs on mode 1 for the finish.

    Farming season has ended

Well the harvest season is done for the commercial vegetable farmers here in S/W Mi. The peppers, squash, and eggplants are done, untied, stakes pulled, plants chopped, plastic pulled up and the fields are reploughed. The last of the farm laborers across the street leave today. My neighbor runs...

    Pulled the Trigger

By no way is this designed as a dig on Pit Boss, I love my 820D, I just want a little tighter control on my smoking and as any of my friend will attest to I'm a little anal because of my O.C.D. Well I jumped the gun and did the yard birds on Saturday, one beer can and one split in half marinated...

    Pulled the Trigger

Enough is enough. I love my PB820D but I've finally had it with her erratic behavior. One day she'd work as designed and the next time the temps would be all over the place. I know it's the pits fault because I'm O.C.D. Already replaced the heat sensor, no change. I was just making adjustment to...

    Bug Invation Pt. 2

I knew it was bound to happen. Yesterday I had my pit disassembled for the install of my new Grilla Alpha Dual controller into my Pit Boss 820D. And of coarse I had to run it through it passes minus any food just incase. A lost traveler in the driveway distracted me from my garage. When I...

    Bug Invation Pt. 2

Just a little follow-up. Now that the temps are down in the 40's and 50's the bugs are sleeping or dead. On the few times I've lifted the cover for a little cook I would shake out a couple of dozen of those stinkers. But not a single bug in the pit. Did find one or two in the rain cap though so...
