    Trouble posting pics from android

I am having difficulty posting pics from my android. I did this once, and it worked like a dream. Ever since then I cannot get the pics to post. It will ask me if I want to upload from device(yes), then asks where to look(gallery), select pic, it asks about offensive or copyrighted material(no)...

    Can you brine too long??

Thank You. I don't know about percentages of salt and sugar, however I do trust Jeff's judgement of such things. I went ahead and put the turkey into the brine, and will get up early in the morning(hopefully) and smoke it. This will be the first time for me to brine a turkey, and only my second...

    Can you brine too long??

I was going to smoke my turkey today using Jeff's basic brine from the recent news letter about turkey with bacon butter. I was going to put it into the brine last night before bed. We went to my wife's aunt and uncle's house for Thanksgiving, got to playing dominoes and didn't get home until...

    Smoker gone bad....

Thank you for this info. I am sorry to hear of your loss. Do not mean to sound callous, however we, the living, can't stop our lives. I am glad you were able to recover your smoker, that thing is awesome!

    Chicken is too smokey

You can use the side firebox. Cut your pecan into fist size or slightly smaller chunks. Mix in well with lump charcoal using the minion method. I do this all the time and have never had a problem with too much smoke from seasoned pecan.

    My Weber Mods with question

Yeah, I thought it worked pretty good, I was just wondering if it was somehow disrupting my smoke or anything.

    My Weber Mods with question

This is the plate I was referring to. It is on a cook grate that was raised from the original position so I could build a bigger coal bed.

    My Weber Mods with question

First allow me to apologize for no pics yet. My net connection is acting up, however I will try to post a few pics ASAP. I took a piece of 55 gal. drum and rolled some bands out of gauge material at work so that I could set it onto the base of my 22.5 Weber, and also to get a better fit for the...

    First time Butt going on!

It will depend on the smoker, and the style of wood(chips, chunks, logs). If you are using chips in an electric smoker I have read about every 45 mins or so. If you are using chunks in a charcoal and cut the wood to about the size of a briquette and mix it in good using the minion method never...

The BBQ Gestapo Shut Me Down

ASK NOTHING!!! I would just set up some tables, have the wife make some potato salad, slaw, beans, etc. Start passing out ribs and Pulled Pork to everyone in the complex. Then when they try to stop you you can incite a riot and overthrow the Socialist regime!! Then if that don't work, when you...

need advice on smoking ribs and a porkloin at the same time

I use the minion method with lump all the time. You did not mention how open the exhaust is. While you want the smoke to move and not go stale if it is drawing too hard it will burn your coal faster. Also try about half or less of a chimney of lit to start. I usually pull out a handful of the...

Wood Base Structure for 60 gal. build??

It should work as long as you don't get too close to the fire box. I have a cousin with a brick pit, and the doors to that are made of plywood skinned with some thin sheet metal. You only looking at about 250 ish at the cook chamber. The wood will handle that pretty well.
