The thermostat cord appears to be the Masterbuilt one. That means I can dial anywhere from low to high but cannot choose a specific temperature. So far I have always had it dialed as high as it will go.
Hey everyone. I would like some opinions or information. I got an old Cabelas Premium Electric Smoker from my best friend. Being new to this whole smoking thing I have been asking many questions so please forgive if you have seen my previous posts but I have new questions. The smoke has a...
I have an old Cabela's Premium Electric Smoker myself. Plug it and turn it on high and temp only gets to maybe 200F. I use a 3 foot 12 gauge cord that connects to my outlet on the outside of my house. Contact Cabela's and they won't tell me anything about who makes anything for this smoker. ...
I bought a better gauge cord for this. Albeit I cannot remember specs right now. I know it is better than a normal back yard 50 foot cord. Also the cord is only 2-3 feet long. I THINK this is it -...
So my best friend gave me an old Cabela's Premium Electric Smoker. Still works for sure. However after using it a handful of times now I cannot get the grill internal temp above 200F. Sits right at 200 once it gets there. I did change out the thermometer that was on the lid with a new one...

Hi all. I am about to try smoking spare ribs for the first time this weekend. I have a couple of basic questions. I will be using the snake method for sure. That method worked brilliantly for my first pork shoulder. I am also going to try the 3-2-1 method. So my first question is where...
So as I get into this smoking meat thing it occurred to me to figure out what solution is best for my needs since I am a newbie. Currently I have an 18" Weber kettle that I did one smoke on last week. Turned out good. Since I know nothing about this smoking world in general I though i would...
So I did my first smoke Saturday. 3.5 lb pork shoulder bone in on an 18" Weber kettle. Used the snake method with 4 chunks hickory. Took exactly 5.5 hours on the grill. What I did was where the wood chucks were I went 2x2 charcoal with the chunks on top side by side. The rest of the snake...
