    PitBoss Selling Upgraded Controller

I mis-spoke! You are correct as i went back & re-read their reply, they are pid. Loose the function / option of the p-setting. From my interpretation of the email, the pid will produce less smoke than what I have now & cant tweak things using the p setting. I dont have terrible issues with...

Just bought a 40lb bag of Lumberjack competition blend, see how that goes... Not like ash / waste is a huge deal, was just an observation & was just intrigued to see if I was onto something..

    Which pellets leave less ash...????

thats not the case, gmg texas is their #1 seller for sure & they carry it on the regular, It moves & they re-stock all the time. They claim strong smoke flavor as we all know pg's are known for lack of so the texas mix helps with flavor.... hes not feeding me a line to move product the doesnt...

    Which pellets leave less ash...????

That response doesnt help my questionable perceived observation as GMG texas mix is: blend of Black Oak, American Hickory, and a hint of Texas Mesquite.......

    Which pellets leave less ash...????

Question with all the ash these pellets produce. My local san diego pelletgrillsgalore carries both lumberjack & GMG pellets. Theys say their #1 sellers is the texas mix in GMG brand, ive used it many times. Dont know if its all in my imagination but questioning if it produces significant more...

    bark??

thx guys, its sitting at 203 now, butter probe on both sides & some resistance in the middle. I vented the foil to probe various areas. Will let it go a bit longer, close her back-up & rest. Would imagine it doesnt matter if its resting in all the liquids?

Update w/ pics of the cook... Im smoking my 2nd butt. At 160 I wrapped in foil instead of butcher paper this time around & sitting at 175 at the moment. Curious if some folks or is it normal practice for some to unwrap again & trying to build-up the bark again & re-wrap & rest? Is this...

I did that with my first butt i left it on the smoke setting overnight which if I remember correctly pitt was I think 170'ish degrees. Didnt think about it at the time but dont think it was ideal / hott enough. At 165 I wrapped in butcher paper, increased temp to 225 & pulled it at 205 without...

Jt I also have a pro 1100! Make sure your metal plates are installed correctly . Going back and forth between Rec Tec 700 and Traeger Century 885

Im not a Traeger fan boy as we all know theyre overpriced compared to other options out there. I personally think the Traeger 885 series visually is bad-@ss compared to the rec-tec.... I like the clean lines... Visually the RT does nothing for me but I know its all about how it performs...
