    Ok thanks guys sounds like ill just wire brush the inside thats gonna suck lol. I never did my season yet because on this drum i have no way to fit a lid on yet and to get something fabricated was like 150$ i wish there was an easier way.

    I was on leave and TDY for 2 months and when i got back on island my drum that i burned out and was ready to build a new drum smoker was all rusted on outside and in. Should i just do another  burn? And then sand the inside and out?

    I have done them in 8 hrs and the longest was 12 hrs. I never foil either and always have moist delicious pork.
