    [REVIEW] Sendowtek Barbecue Thermometer

Hi all, I've recently been buying things to get started on my BBQ journey and wanted to start posting reviews of my own to help people out. To start with, I reviewed the Sendowtek Barbecue Thermometer . For under £30, you get a responsive, dual-probe thermometer that connects wirelessly over...

    Cook #1 - Beef Ribs

Thank you for the tips. At the very least, I'll do a 50/50 mix of salt and celery salt instead and reduce the total amount by half. I'm going to have to learn to check for tenderness and what that feels like for sure - I was hoping to sort of avoid that part by having a thermometer but it does...

    Cook #1 - Beef Ribs

That's certainly the idea, but I was very surprised at how effective the snake method was at giving consistent heat. It would be nice to try something more subtle but I think I'll aim for smaller chunks (maybe even chips) and see how that goes next time.

    Cook #1 - Beef Ribs

Absolutely. I thought that because the ribs were so fatty, I'd need a lot of seasoning to offset it. What I didn't anticipate is how well the ribs would get smoked - ended up with a taste overload! Thank you very much, it means a lot. I think more pepper and less salt will do it, but I am a...

    Cook #1 - Beef Ribs

All right, so the rain pretty much poured down for most of the outside cook meaning that the ambient temperature never really got above 230. Despite that, they were looking pretty good at about 3hr30m in (about 160 internal temp) and so I brought them in to wrap: I wrapped all 4, and added a...

    Ribs last night, 3-2-1 Method

Man those are some good looking ribs. About to smoke my first rack over charcoal this weekend and I'll be happy if they look half as good as those. :)

Thank you so much for the wise words. I've got my thermometer winging its way to me and the tip about the chickens is a good one - I'm nearby an Aldi so they might have to be 'smoker fodder' for a little while whilst I learn the hardware I have got access to. :)

    Midwest smoker!

Hey Brandon, Sounds like we both have ambitious plans for the future, although I'm at an earlier stage than yourself. Love the sound of a food truck so I wish you all the luck in the world. Do you have a Facebook or Instagram account we can follow?

    Joining the fold

Hi all, I just wanted to introduce myself to the UK crew. I'm Chris, 28, from Birmingham and am about to do my first proper smoke on a charcoal BBQ this weekend (a relatively cheap, but decently-sized kettle BBQ). I've read up on the 'snake method', got a rub ready to go, ordered briquettes...

    Caramel Cornflake Brownies

Hi all, I'm very glad to see that there's a 'dessert' section on here as it's probably my favourite course! I grew up baking with my mum and regularly love baking cakes and other sweet treats. Last weekend, I decided to 'level up' my chocolate brownies and tried my hand at making caramel (dry...

Who roasts their own coffee on their BBQ or Grill?

You're correct (I did mean "gas") but I hadn't considered charcoal. I do have a fire pit that would provide me easy access to roast beans using a small cast iron pan. I'm assuming that the beans are quite sensitive to heat, but it's easy to control temperature as long as you're stirring? Would...

I just wanted to say how fantastic those beans look. I so badly want to try this myself but am not fortunate to have a glass barbecue (yet). Maybe one day!
