    Checklist for first Pulled Pork

I used to smear bbq sauce and whatever all over my butts but recently discovered that putting the meat on Hawaiian sweet rolls with nothing but cole slaw is incredible. I won't eat it any other way now, except maybe in pork fried rice. Should add that I didn't even really like cole slaw until I...

I made some smoked carolina reaper infused salt and it's amazing

In October I took a bunch of carolina reaper peppers from the garden, shredded them up, added minced garlic and onion + paprika, then put it in a vacuum sealed canister and set it aside, shaking it vigorously every couple weeks. Saturday night I smoked/dried it. Not sure if you guys have had a...

Real close to pulling the trigger on a Rec Tec Stampede

Awesome, I really appreciate all the info! That brisket looks great, and I didn't know this thing had an extreme smoke setting, but that's really nice! My wife and I have talked it over, and she wants me to order now I think, but I'm gonna wait until after memorial day, however I've definitely...

First spare ribs on the weber.

Very nice! I learned how to smoke meat on mine, and have actually been getting the urge to smoke a butt on there again just because it's kinda fun!

    Bacon, Bacon, And More Bacon...Almost 40# (W / Pics)

Looks good! But what in the world kind of smoker is that? It looks like there's nothing below the grates? I'm curious, got any info on the thing? I just looked it up after this thread and it doesn't actually look too difficult. I think we're gonna make some bacon now

Dang that looks really good. Definitely interested in trying this. Can you share a bit of detail on the curing process?

Real close to pulling the trigger on a Rec Tec Stampede

I'm in Michigan so it gets pretty cold in the winter. Definitely planning to have the cold weather cover before then because I like to go year round when I can!

Royal Oak on sale at Menards 18lbs $4.99

I got it at Lowes the other day for $4 per bag. Got free shipping on 8 bags which I thought was super strange because there's no way they made any money selling me 8 bags for 32 bucks with free shipping lol

Real close to pulling the trigger on a Rec Tec Stampede

Thanks! I definitely plan to get the cover at the same time as my smoker, I was just debating when to get the insulating blanket/cover thing. And thanks for linking me to that post in the Rec Tec thread, I missed that one somehow in my searching!

Real close to pulling the trigger on a Rec Tec Stampede

I spoke to them on the phone and they assured me that it can be used in pouring rain without damaging electronic equipment. That was my biggest worry. Anyone have experience with that? I was thinking I'd get the cover for when I'm not using it, the rain diverting things for the top, and then...

Finally got my GRILL!!!!! OG Grilla!

That's an interesting smoker, and congrats on what looks like a very successful first smoke with it! Side note: totally thought you were holding a fat cigar in the first pic!

First pork ribs I'm happy with!

I used my Masterbuilt propane box smoker with apple wood for 2 hours @275 with a dry rub, then gave both a nice spray of around 1:5 bbq sauce: apple cider vinegar, then gave it another 10 minutes. After that I pulled them out, sprayed down well, and wrapped for 2 more hours @275. 25 minutes or...

I decided to try making smoked hummus and it turned out great!

I love hummus. Make it all the time, but I wanted to try something different, so I smoked the chickpeas first! I used the weber since I'm able to smoke at a much lower temperature in there than in my Masterbuilt propane smoker. So I started with 2 cans of chick peas, garlic, cumin, salt, and...

"self cleaning" cycle on your propane smoker with high heat?

That's about how long I do it I'd say. I don't have my manual either though, but you could surely find it online or call them if you're worried :)

"self cleaning" cycle on your propane smoker with high heat?

I do this and it makes all the crud on the inside turn to dry flaky stuff I can wipe right off. Not sure if I really need to do that since my food doesn't actually touch the sides anyway, but it's therapeutic
