I hadn't heard of anyone using it either, and if it leaves a bitter taste, then I will just trim the branches and put them in the fireplace later on.
Thanks everyone!
I have the same thing with the SFB. You will love it once you get it modified. I highly recomend the normal mods. Extend the vent pipe to grate level, better thermometers, heat baffle and take some hi-temp silicone to all the holes and bolts. I am adding some hi-temp fireplace rope to mine...
I have done it both ways, and honestly can't tell the difference...
When I do inject them I use apple juice, melon liquor (sweet), dry rub and worchester (sp?) sauce.
No specific amounts for each item, just depends on how it pours out.
I may try coke or dr. pepper next time.
Let us know what...
Looking great so far! I am with Bear on this one- I would add the camo and I'm sure the local military would love it.
Thanks for posting such good pics!
It's a thing-a-beauty! Very well done indeed. Of course my wife saw the picture and says "Oh my gosh what the hell is that?" Of course I had to give her the detailed explanation!

Thanks for looking!

Welcome to the club!
So I made a pork butt last weekend which wasn't my most teder by any means. My brother and sister in-law tried to invite themselves over which would have been caotic to say the least. So today's smoke is going to be brought over to their house so all 4 boys don't destroy our house.
I am...
I have one and I really like it. I started with an MES 30. You will have to get something to hold your charcoal because it wont do well without it. My ash drawer doesn't shut tight so I had to add some tinfoil to close it up this past weekend. I purchased some heavy duty stove rope so I can...
I did my second pork butt on the Chargriller duo pro w/ sfb. The last one I did I thawed and smoked as usual. It tured out perfect.
today I used one that I bought from the same local butcher on Friday.
I smoked it close to 225 on royal oak lump until it reached 190 and then I pulled it to...
