If you could choose one smoker....

WSM (or similar) all the way. I have three "bullet" style... An 18" and 22" WSM and a 22" trail embers dome, which is a cross between a WSM and a UDS...could qualify as either a "bullet" style or UDS depending on how you look at it. I love them...can run all three if need be and smoke A TON of...

    Something strange is happening.

I've got the same issue... First, a 22 " kettle found a home on my deck. She attracted a WSM 18"...shortly after a smokey joe showed up and recently the grand daddy WSM 22" showed up...now I'm in need of building new "housing" for the Weber family.

    Carrying case for therms

PERFECT...I've been struggling over the same thing myself. I purchased a small inexpensive tackle box from bass pro to put mine in but still had to put a couple small towles in to keep everything from rattling around. I.love the gun case idea.

    Inkbird RF model probe failures

I calibrate my bymetalic thermometers quite frequently and NEVER trusted the installed thermos on any of the smokers or grills I've used over the years. I always used a slightly higher end long stem thermometer and never permanently installed them...i.just drilled holes at grate level (s) large...

    Inkbird RF model probe failures

Thanks for the "baking" them dry tip. I'll certainly try that. I also have a tube of the high temp silicone...based on your observations I'm going to seal all my probes to protect against moisture intrusion. Since you've raised it to consienceness Thanks for the tip on moisture and the drying...

    Inkbird RF model probe failures

Thanks for the input. I'm new to the "digital age" of thermometers. I've got decades of outdoor cooking/smoking experience, I've simply used bimetal thermos until this past year. As age creeps in the thought of monitoring my temps from the comfort of my easy chair has greater appeal. I didnt...

    Inkbird RF model probe failures

Has anyone using the inkbird RF 1500 foot range thermos had any probe failure issues. I have two units, both four probe. The first one I purchased as a two probe and immediately ordered two additional probes. I liked it so during a flash sale I purchased a second four probe model. All showed to...

Letter From The Editor: Extreme heat danger and food safety: what could go wrong?

GREAT ARTICLE...this is something we should all consider and take proper precautionary measures to prevent. I personally, as radio, have a large cooler in my van that I stash my meats and what nots in for the drive home... I think asking our.local or county health officials to become more active...

    Pulled pork recipe

Im.not sure where this should go so I'll start it here and let someone move it if necessary.... I've never been a big fan of doing much special to my pork butts...a little rub, smoke em up and pull them but I was getting a bit bored. Inspired a bit by all the Cherry Dr. Pepper injection...

    It's still funny

Bob was stuck in the worst traffic jamb he'd ever been in just outside DC. He hadnt moved a hundred feet in over an hour... Half asleep from boredom he about jumped right out of his seatbelt when a gentleman rapped on his window. Bob rolls down his window and irratatedly says "Ya what" The...

I'm on the "No Wrap" ribs bandwagon

I'm with you... I did a side by side comparison a couple weeks ago. I did two racks "naked" and two using 3-2-1 . I thought the "naked" ribs were absolutely just as good and far less hassle than wrapping.
Great deal on LEM Grinders!
