Three Rib Roast on the RT Bullseye

I have one similar, but it can only do so much. I need to find somebody with the equipment to grind them professionally.

Three Rib Roast on the RT Bullseye

Thanks, all! And yes, I think I bought that roast when it was on sale around Christmas last year. Some of the leftovers made for a couple of good, smokey French dips last night.

Three Rib Roast on the RT Bullseye

My son was over this last weekend, so I pulled out a 3-rib roast from the freezer. I had given it a light coat of Montreal steak seasoning before I vac'd and froze it, then added some Kinders Prime Rib rub. I wanted it to get some smoke, so I started it at 225° for about 3 hours, then cranked it...

Time for some smoked carnitas tacos

Looks delicious! I love street tacos. When I'm in Puerto Vallarta, that's practically all I eat. Some days I just walk around town and hit my favorite stands.

    A little toy for myself.

I had a couple friends in high school that were into RC's. First one had a boat, and he misjudged the controller's distance on a large lake one day. Boat headed out towards the middle of the lake and never came back. The other was into planes. He was flying a loop, and flew it straight through...

    Lets See Your Garden

Hers is maybe 9' tall, but it was loaded this year. I guess the squirrels were more interested in the huge walnut tree across the street.

    Lets See Your Garden

Just got back from taking my 2 grandsons to the local corn/pumpkin farm. The kids told me, DO NOT BUY ANY APPLES! Apparently there was a huge harvest off of my daughter's one, small tree this year. She doesn't know what kind it is, some sort of red apple, but she spent 2 days peeling, chopping...

Cleaning Out My Freezer and Found Gold

I can't count how many times I've had to fix or replace something, that directly led to another thing, and then led to another. When I was building my commercial fridge conversion, I thought I had it all mapped out in my head with the parts I'd need. Ended up making at least 10 more trips to a...

    Help on too much smoke

I've never smoked mulling spices, but I don't think I'd go over an hour if I did. You want it to be subtle. And I don't think mixing them with non-smoked spices would work, either. You'll either end up with some of the heavily smoked pieces in there, or nothing.

It's a Sign of the Times

I've lost count of the times a cashier gave me too much back in change, lately. I always correct their mistake, and return the overage. Then they look at me like I'm weird.

    My Biltong recipe

Interesting. Biltong is not common in the US, and it's cool to see exactly how it's made.

If you ever wondered why brisket at a restaurant is so expensive.

I read that, too. I'm sure he's not the only one.

If you ever wondered why brisket at a restaurant is so expensive.

Today: The price for regular gas is actually about 15 cents less than most places around here. I filled up at Costco last night for $5.19.
