The rotisserie is the "Grizzly Spit" campfire rotisserie. The motor is battery operated. I made the bracket myself. I got the rotisserie off Amazon. It works great. In the Mini-WSM forum here I posted my build. Look for the "Minitisserie" threads.
Brian,
I've struggled with this ever since the 14 came out. All the Mini-WSM pioneers knew it was needed. But at retail price??? At this price I had to get one, just to do side by side comparisons!
I'm putting together the bits and pieces for my wsm-minibuild. I have a question for any who grills on the smokey joe gold. I've read that they don't burn as well as the reg. sj, with the lid on. I'm gonna use my for both and think the sj gold would be better for the minibuild. Any...
Recently I was making the same decision between a wsm or a kettle. I decided to go for the kettle, and to build a miniwsm using a smokey joe. I got the best of both worlds, and for cheaper than a brand new wsm.
Run Run away fast!
My first charcoal smokers was a Meco and it ruined me on charcoal smoking for a good 8 years. Even with mods they are horrible at keeping temps. There's no set and forget! For a little bit more you could build a Mini-wsm and have one of the best smokers around.
I love a good bbq'ed hamburger, good job. Gonna pick a smokey joe this weekend, and do a little camping. Also tracked down a Hoffritz tamale steamer, so with a little luck, I'll have what I need to build a miniWSM, got your build bookmarked. Have a good weekend, keep on smokin'.
Let's just start by saying this is coming from a completely unhandy kinda guy. I'm just debating the effectiveness of using my 22.5 everytime I want to smoke something no matter how small. Real question is does a 14.5 work better than a mini built by a nitwit. I'm sure I could follow directions...
Yes sir Case. I envy you. That old Vasconia pot that fit so well is no longer available. I know you've got some stack up like cord wood in your back yard! You were smart to buy em while you could!
But its not as easy to build a Mini as it use to be... Having to crimp and fit the steamer...
If you want a small and portable hand built smoker...The MiniWSM is a possibility...JJ

Here's my take on the MiniWSM, I have a Jumbo Joe with a Cajun Bandit stacker so I wasn't keen to build a MiniWSM but I got tired of doing just one rack of ribs with the Jumbo Joe thus the minibuild. I didn't want to crimp the pot so I used the lid from the pot for the lid for the mini...
Joes are the perfect camping tool. And I agree that burgers taste better over charcoal! Good luck with your build! I'm flattered that you're using my guide. There are lots of other great post here too. Feel free to message me with any questions as you put your MWSM together.

I'm an engineer from IL. I have lots of hobbies, but a common theme is DIY, so naturally after having some good bbq a while back I decided I'd better figure out how to make it myself. I currently cook on a Weber 22.5" kettle either with or without a Smokenator 1000, with plans to convert my...
Hi Chef, this is a link to the build of my Mini.

The Base Grill, was purchased from B&Q, I think it's similar to your Home Depot.
It's made by Brazo called Blooma
Welcome to the site. I'm not experienced in sausage smoking but I use a WSM and love it. Check out miniwsmbuilds if you want to build your own. I don't know the best smokers for successful sausage.

So I have decided to build a mini. I have a weber smokey Joe gold as well as a 32 at aluminum pot. I have just now gotten these two parts and understand I need to use stainless steel hardware.
For those who have built/used minis, what are some things you wished you had done? I also have some...
Yeah I'm looking forward to lighting this smoker up! It will happen tomorrow!!!
The boat limited out on rockfish for 18 people. 7 rockfish limit, you're also allowed 2 lingcod per person. The lingcod weren't biting well as the drift was up and it was tough fishing. Boat also caught 130...
Was contemplating a miniwsmbuild as I need something portable. However I was looking at the chargriller side box and wondered if I could use that. The nice thing about that is I could fit a brisket or a couple racks or ribs (in a rib rack of course). Something you can't do with the miniwsm...
Both preform the same. I have home built mini-wsm's and a buddy has a 14.5" WSM. We smoke side by side and both work equally aw well.
I also have a 18.5". I use my mini-wsm 98% of the time. Really only use the 18 when doing full racks of ribs.
As for building the hardest part of the build is...
