Our Walmart has the pots for $21, but I'm going to have to order the grill unless I can find one at the local shops. The online shopper didn't have it listed as local, but things don't always come up. I have the saute pan, so I'm good on that. Now, I just have to buy the drill and bits. lol
You should tell her about Pork, the other white meat. Hahahaha.....Kidding aside you would be surprised what you can fit in a mini. My next non homemade smoker may be the WSM 14.5. If I don't just build a Weber mini myself. If you are slightly handy you could easily make yourself a UDS Brian...
Hello all,
Inspired by posts and pics of the Vortex being used to cook wings with crispy skin, I used the charcoal basket I made for my Mini-WSMbuild in my 22.5 Weber Original Premium to try and get the same effect.
I wrapped the sides of the basket in foil, and lit about half a chimney of...
I've been viewing this site for months and just got to say you all corrupted me. Starting searching craigslist and found this 80 gallon compressor for a 100 buck they said the pump was sized no big deal just wanted the tank well I pick it up and end up selling the pump and the motor for 200 so...
You can't go wrong with a WSM! If you're patient you can get one for a good deal off of craigslist; that's what I did. In the mean time build yourself a miniWSM for smaller cooks.
New to the forum and glad to be here.
I am in Modesto, CA. and built my MiniWSM in July. (build video)
I am a novice to smoking, but no novice to bbq, grilling or eating! I was going to buy a smoker but found this forum and a few videos on building a miniwsm. I had a very old smokey joe...
That all looks delicious! Can't wait til I can finally start smoking. I think I'm going to try and call a few more places locally to see how much it would be to have a drum sandblasted. One place I was able to get ahold of wanted $75 or $100. Seemed a little high to me. Can't imagine...
You know, these seem to have a pretty loyal following around here. They are compact and can be easily transported, they are inexpensive to build, it would be a new unit. They are expandable...LOL I think Case stacks up three of four...... but ya gotta watch out for him. LOL...
You could build a mini-wsm for around $100 all in.
I have a MES Gen2 electric with amnps and it's awesome to set and forget. I also have the 18" WSM, but my mini is my go to smoker.
Plus I had a lot of fun researching and building it!
...decided to take a stroll through some local shops and see if I could find anything useful. The design I settled on was inspired by the miniwsmbuilds. This particular design consists of two steel pots with lids (one big and one smallish). I cut out the rim of the smaller lid and fastened it...
A WSM (Weber Smokey Mountian)uses charcoal and wood chunks but it's very easy to use I suggest you read up on them a bit they make a great smoker. I'm pretty sure there's a cold smoke mod you could do as well just haven't looked into it personally. You can also build your own miniWSM and have...
Having looked at threads on building Mini-WSMs for the past 5-6 years and having been using my Mini's now for a little over 4 years now I have noticed that there is a lot information on the how to build and that everyone has their opinions on the best set-up. A lot of times there isn't much...
LOL I have to buy the jigsaw for another project, so that's on the list! I was drooling over the double stacks over on the Misi-WSM photo request for minibuilds, but I had to stop when I saw the 4-high tower...Too much! Actually, I think I'm just jealous, because that was awesome! lol Thanks...
...I've always said to myself, "Self, we need a smoker!"
I've been a Weber fan for a long time and have just been taken aback to the many miniwsmbuilds on here. I love the consept and can't wait to build one. I've learned so much from you guys over the past few weeks and figured that it...
The mini-WSM is a solid performer. Even at a higher cost, it would be a great value.
There is always room to make a great product even better.
This build asks the question: How far can you take the mini-WSM? What additional gains could be seen?
Who will be interested in this build? Those...
