Amateur smoker here from the Northeast. I use a Masterbuilt Electric 30" smoker. My mother in law gave it to me a few years ago and a year after she gave me a great deep fryer...I guess you could say I like to eat. BBQ is one of my absolute favorites and there are only a couple good places up here to get it, so I figured I'd better learn how to do it myself!
So far...ribs (many times) come out pretty good, the brisket (once) was horrible and the chicken (once) not so great.
A neighborhood buddy of mine is organizing a local rib contest later in October so I came across this forum while looking for some tips. Lots of really great and informative posts so I thought I'd join up.
