Hi folks,

I usually make corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot for St. Patrick's Day, but since i have a new smoker

, can i smoke it instead? SPD falls on a sunday this year so if the weather is nice, I'd like to do it on the smoker. Has anyone tried this? Tips and Recipes are very much appreciated.

Thank you.

Smoked corned beef = pastrami.

Yes you can smoke it but it won't really be corned beef anymore. A lot of people do it, just search "pastrami" in the search bar above and you will a ton of threads about it.

If you don't soak it for a while before smoking it...it will taste salty. The boiling for corned beef and cabbage gets some of the salt out.

Loved mine in the smoker!
