So One Year Ago, I Sauntered Onto This Site…

  1. Happy Sunday to All!

It was September 19th of last year, when I set up a password and account on this Smoker Site, and figured that I would visit it from time to time – every few months or so perhaps – or twice or thrice a year.

Never had I so much as even heard of a “Fattie,” or “Moink Ball” or “Reverse Sear” for that matter either. There was so much to learn!

That the wonderful and welcoming smokers would become a near “daily dose” or part of my life, has been the loveliest surprise! Indeed, the people here, and quite fabulous grand food concoctions, are truly a pleasure - tenfold!

It is with gratitude for being here, that I raise a glass WAY UP today, and with great warmth to all!

I smoked some simple fish today, (shark), and with pecan wood chips and then layered over some wheat-free pasta (brown rice penne) and with mushrooms, cayenne, blue sea salt, olive oil and fresh basil…

    Simple, healthful, and also wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for being the great people that you are! Cheers!!!!!!!! - Leah

Terrific looking meal as usual, Leah.

You have been a real asset to the forums. Clever, creative and a breath of fresh air with your different smokes. You are a rose amongst a bunch of old fat guy thorns.

It really nice to see somebody who takes the time to reflect on things like this and to acknowledge those peers who contribute to all of our benefit. I too might be coming into this milestone but not sure when. You have surely contributed some interesting food fascinations. I tend to believe that cliche about those "birds of a feather...." Compliments to the chef and like they said at Woodstock " we're all feeding each other , man"

  13. Thank you Knuckle47!!! And YOU are the one who taught me to use pistachio shells as smoking chips, and I do that often! Thank you therefore, for sharing and teaching and being who you are!!!!! Cheers! - Leah

I thought you would like this kindred spirit,

Kiss the sea on the lips a nice turn of phrase[IMG],9 varieties on this stand about 5 from Tassie .

Including this little bit of poetic licence ,

Thats $20 each then $18 then $15 . As big as a fisherman's hand.St Helens very pretty fishing town on the East Coast of Tassie ,not as wild as the west coast ,great white wines produced nearby.

  15. Oh Man do those oysters look amazing!!! Now I want oysters!!!!!! Do you see what you start??? Smiles. so beautiful!!!!! Cheers! - Leah

I thought " loin stirring" was a bit ambitious by the copy writer but you never know!

  17. I think those copywriters are brilliant!
