I think you need to call me before you attempt this by yourself again! I wouldn't want anything bad to happen with a grease accident and a fellow SMF member, and I would even be so kind as to help with quality control.
 
FWIW...someone told me recently that when they made chimis, they used a mixure of eggwhite and room temp. water water to "seal" the tortillas.

You put all the food on and then brush the egg and H2O mixture all around the edge of the tortilla...then it sticks together when you fold it.

I was gonna try that soon and see if it works.
