Yet another fine job you did there Jeanie. You always knoe how the make some really good eats on that camp fire grill. Now you did catch a mess of them cats and they sure did make for some nice niggets too. Now a whole week of great food like that could make someone really like to camp all the time.Great Job the Jeanie

We usually wind up leaving some as we can never quite burn it all, no matter how big of a fire we build. He's a real machine and can get a full cord sawn up and split before you say scat. I guess it's a good thing for the next group who follows behind us.

Typically we camp in one spot each night then move on to another site further down the trail the next day then set up camp all over again. Not a lot of relaxation in it but still fun sitting around the camp fire and there's lots of trout fishing in high mountain lakes going on. Camping in one spot for more than two days at a time is getting to be a real treat for me. I am gettin a little too old and tired of pitching that tent then packing up the whole truck again the next morning. It's probably time to do more fishing and less traveling. Maybe get a couple of dutch ovens and see what I can manage with those.

Make many river side meals.

Something about running water, fresh caught fish, and the smell of a campfire makes life wonder.

Now I'm hungry! Those channels look great, I love catfish.
Thank you Meateater!  Catfish are one of my favorites too. :)

wow that looks very good, nice camp site too
Thanks RdKnB!  I like that spot, try to go there at least once a year.

Dick, that sounds great... trout fishing and high mountain lakes... it would be nice and cool too I bet.

I need to borrow your friend to keep me supplied in campfire wood. lol  That would be nice!

When I get the time to go camping, I like to stay at least a week. set up my tent and just enjoy the quiet. (not that my farm is noisy lol )....sometimes it's hard to come home!

Where was this?  Looks like a nice spot!
It was at a little place in north central Oklahoma called "Salt Plains"   I usually camp on the lake but this time camped on the back side of the spillway.  It was a nice week. :)
