It's our 27 year Anniversary today [IMG].

figure if she can put up with me that many years the least I can do is make her a nice steak dinner !!!!!

I started a post asking what the best Steak to grill and had a lot of votes for Ribeye. So went to our Butcher

and told him I wanted 2" thick ribeyes. He went in the back and cut two for us.

now I'm use to ribeyes in a box at walmart. cheap and tasteless.

these bad boys are HUGE !!!!!!!!

They are going in the smoker on low heat until they reach a IT of 110.  Then on the hot grill .

My Wife likes hers well done. [IMG]  mine will be medium rare .

will up date when they go in the smoker

Those are some really good looking steaks! But you better pay attention to her today and not posting pics on here, we can see it tomorrow.

  3. 27 years...Congratulations!!!!!!  Those are some beautiful steaks and just the way we like them. You can post your photos tomorrow, because today is for the two of you!

I haven't smoked any ribeyes or Prime Rib, so I'm curious to the details, at a later time!

Had a Great day yesterday with the wife.[IMG]

so here a few pictures and video of the steaks.

put them in the smoker for an 1 1/2 hours at around 200 degrees until they reach 110 IT.

here they are right before putting them on the hot grill

wife want her steak well done. I want mine Medium  so I put hers (on the grate) on then added mine after I flip her steak.

my steak is being cooked "caveman style" right on the lump charcoal [IMG]

    lots of smoke going on

    and fire !!![IMG]

I put the baked potatos on my UDS keep the temp around 300 degrees.

not the best picture but the steak is just about the way I like them .

    got to have a Bear-view

    Congrats Ed! Steaks looked great.

  17. Great looking steak! I never would have thought of doing this. I have gas grill and a smoker. Gas grills don't add much flavor to meat. But if I smoke the steaks for a little while and then finish the steaks on the gas grill that would be giving me the smoke flavor I miss cooking on the gas grill.

  18. Great looking meals!!! Don't ya just love steak and eggs? Thanks for sharing and the dessert recipe as well.

We haven't smoked any steaks yet...we have a gas grill that boyfriend adds a dozen charcoal briquettes to when we have them on the grill.
