That is so true too! I’ve always said everything I wrap is an original. Lots of tape and taffy looking twisted ends at times lol. My bacon weaves are immaculate haha
 
When we were kids, everything wrapped at my house was wrapped in newspapers.

Not every year but some years my parents did the same. The funny pages were used for the kids, and the print section was for the parents. Also school book covers were made from brown paper bags. I also remember my grandmother collecting all the bows and ribbons from the gifts to reuse them the following year. Waste not want not.

I still save bows lol. Just part of my DNA from childhood much like yours.
