My neighbor just got his car delivered from the restoration shop in Hayes, KS. 66 427 4 speed car. Four years in waiting. My photos don't even begin to display the beauty.

That is one sweet ride! I can’t even imagine the price to restore it was!!!!
It's one of those things that if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it.

Never being into cars, trucks, or motorcycles, I can't even imagine the money I've saved over the decades. Just basic, reliable, and inexpensive cars for me.

Went through that process about 10 years ago. It comes down to having a desire and working hard to get there. For me, I fell in love with the '63 SWC when it was introduced and being 10 years old. I retired in '13 and set out to find one and have it restored. The hunt and & subsequent rebuild journey was all part of the experience. Your buddy has a very nice looking '66 Coupe 👍

One of the best years. The Corvette started going downhill in 1968 and never stopped except for performance upgrades.

When my aunt got married, my grandfather gave my uncle a Chevrolet order form, and he filled it out: 1965 Corvette hardtop convertible, 327/365, 4-speed, black with white seats.

He didn't have it long. He parked it on the street in Stanton, Kentucky, and a guy in a truck backed into it. When he looked back to see what he had hit, he couldn't see the Corvette, so he backed into it again. That was the end of that car.

My good friend's dad had a pristine split window vette, don't recall the year, but immaculate. In roughly 1984, friend's dad and mom were out of town, so out came the Vette. You can probably already sense the direction this is going.... Friend drives it to a party, alcohol was consumed, and he decides to do a raging burnout at the top of the steep, uphill driveway. Tires finally grip, it fishtails and dives off the driveway embankment, nosediving probably 15 feet back to the bottom of the driveway. He survived, the car did not. The repurcussions went on for years. Thankfully it didn't destroy his relationship with his dad but his payback schedule as a high schooler dramatically changed his life!

Everyone has heard of the 'Neighbors from Hell', well Adam and Sara are the neighbors from Heaven! Adam certainly deserves that car. I am so happy for him.

Oh yeah, I'll get a ride.😁

The interior of that thing brings back memories. I remember my uncle taking my mom and me for a ride. Lowered the top and took off with me sitting in my mom's lap. Steel dashboard with all sorts of projections in front of me, no airbags, no seatbelt, and no roll bar.

While we were driving, a Nash Metropolitan went off the road in front of us and Uncle Jim followed him, jumped out of the 'Vette, reached in the driver's window, and stopped the Nash. The man was blue. He had died right in front of us, behind the wheel.
