Alright. Gut says just use them in firepit. I took tarp off my wood pile, and discovered some wood with rodent droppings (maybe chipmunks, or squirrels, or maybe rats, who knows).

Can i still use the wood to smoke with? I would imagine the fire kills germs, but I can't say with certainty.

Thoughts of my fellow smokers? Am I being too germophibic?

Like Kieth said just knock the turds off and burn. In my experience though where there are rodent turds there is urine also and that can give an off smell for a minute or two if down wind but it goes away fine.

From Google, knock off the obvious poop spots and allow any wet spots to sun dry. Start a fire with clean wood. Add the suspect wood to the fire. Above 167F nothing will live

That's what I did. Used the clean wood. And let the ones with the turds sit in the sun next to my fire pit for a while. Can't say I'm knowledgeable on digestive systems of rodents, but I imagine where there is poop there is urine

Just knock off the visible turds and use it. There is no telling how much bug crap and dead bugs are in there, too lol.
