For everybody in eastern Kansas I found a new wood source for you. This guy sells wood cut in 6 to 8 inch lengths in 60 pound onion sacks for $30. He has hickory, cherry and pecan. I told him I was going to post this info on here for everybody. His company is located near Edgerton but they deliver all over eastern Kansas. I don't know about shipping but you can ask if he will ship it.

David i just hit a pretty good score of apple and cherry this summer so i have a pallet load ready to use soon. Good info tho.

K Man, do you have any fruit orchards in that part of Yorkshire ? Pretty much any fruit wood should be good for smoking with. Oak is also a good smoking wood. Should have planty of that around over there.
There is a few other brits hang around on here although they are not up north. They may be able to give you some advice though.
