Woke up Tuesday feeling fine, then,,

I stretched, leg went numb, arm went numb face felt like Novocain shot,,, half my body paralyzed.

Wife and son drug me out to the car to the ER hospital.

Big kid lifted my rag doll body onto a gurney.
Brutal.

Needles in one arm, then the other,, then rolled into a Scan machine.

Doctor peaked in and said:
“We're monitoring as the clot on your brain dissolves there may be bleeding”

7 minutes later Paralysis gone 100% good to go.

No history of this in the family - blindsided us.

Many hospitals around the USA have this treatment. Only a 4 hour window from when it hits to be effective.

Going to smoke 3 sides today and distribute to the neighbors.

Yes as the arteries in a persons neck get narrower with time clots can develop and bust loose.

They tell me just a stroke. There are different kinds I’m told.

Yeah before I left the hospital they inserted a tube from my groin to my neck to take a look at the location it came from.

Don’t anyone fear this. Sounds scary but very routine and “ the gold standard” to diagnose.
On blood thinners now.

I put this thread up to tell ya all get to the hospital immediately. You only have 4 hours.

Google hospitals in your area click around on the website to see if they offer stroke services.
In the ICU all ages in there. Can hit anyone.

so thats a thing. the nearest hospitals to us are a solid 45 minute drive without snow. but they are big ones, I mapped ones in network and nearest ER and urgent care when we moved here...because I seem to end up there with some regularity.

As we travel now hospitals are something we keep a list of.
You can wake up paralyzed and some of that 4 hours has already ticked off.
