yes I have but didn't realize it until now. I remember smoking some ribs and i put my popper on the top rack from what I can remember they were great
 
Also, if you pull the bacon tight as you wrap and smash the fatty parts of the bacon against each other you can usually get the bacon to stick to itself without using a toothpick.

 Hey BG Poppers aka ABT's usually take about 2 hour +/- at 225*F to get the Chile tenderand get some color on the Bacon...JJ
 
when i cook my poppers,I let my bacon crisp up and my pepper get soft to tell you the truth I don't time them, but if you are direct grilling it takes between 30-60 min.If your bacon starts to over cook and your peppers are not soft yet you can place the in a bowl with some foil over them and that will soften them and bacon will say crisp
