Wifes been gone for a few days - ribeyes, pizza, etc. A few picks.

the pie is a homemade crust (Bobby Flay's recipe) with fresh motz and basil margherita style- with some hot Italian sneeked in.
Couple ribeye's. these were CPB I bought with a gift card from my good daughter. The one without grill makes was a SV and torch sitch. the others were gilled.
Had a nice SV pork chop - no pics all eats.
The grilled burrito was great too. Make that in the pannini maker (other thread on that).

Had one killer sunrise to share. Wife home tomorrow. Missed her!

All looks good to me . Sometimes that's the best eating when it's just you , every now and then anyway .
I did a hot ham n cheese in the Foreman after seeing the other thread . Working on a few more .
Had to look twice at the pizza pic . Up against the sunrise pic , your counter top looks like a hill side with a dusting of snow . Lol .

Agreed. She used to travel a lot for work. Since we retired it was an adjustment for us both. I was used to at least every other week being solo with the dogs. then COVID and retirement happened and I was like...uh you got to be anywhere anytime . not to be a d**k but. All good tho. We talk about it all the time. Miss the Delta mile ALOT too.

For sure! a few days before she left - we had what we call a "come to Jesus" talk. Needed to air it all out and make sure I could handle the dogs, house, cooking, etc. That was only a couple days out of the boot and it was still questionable. Making good progress on the recovery - just slow AF!

Mine left Thursday for Louisiana to visit her mom. Gone for 2 weeks. Sometimes batchin' it turns out the best grub since you don't have to worry about anyone else's tastes! Sandy's cooks are a fine example.

I think we are all better with some occasional solo time. Also helps us appreciate our wives and v/v.

I take an annual guys trip each year and I think there is a mutual appreciation after that just like her trips.

Some great looking food! I don’t mind having a couple bachelor days here and there, it allows me to really cook stuff I wouldn’t normally make when my wife is around.

But if it’s really good, and I know she’ll like it, it gives me the chance to impress her.
