Doing two bone in breasts on the smoker on Thursday. I've never tried any meat in Pop's brine so I thought I'd make the 2 breasts that way. Anyway... mixed up a batch (3 gallons) and put it in a clean, lidded 5 gallon bucket along with the breasts. I had thought I could just leave the whole bucket in my shed since it was 30 degrees all week.

Of course mother nature had different plans. It's about 60 here today, 66 tomorrow, in the 50's on Tuesday so the natural refrigerator isn't going to work. I had some frozen water bottles that dunked in the brine to keep it cold. I guess I'll have to keep doing that all week.

On a similar note... I just got an alert on my phone that a storm is brewing for Thursday. So on the days when I want it cold, it's warm. And on the day I want decent weather, it's supposed to snow.

Can't win...

Sorry to hear that, when you want to smoke you want to smoke !!!
