Whole Chicken cook times Recommendations / Help

Hey All,

So I will be making my first attempt at smoking a whole chicken today. I am using the masterbuilt 30' electric smoker and am looking for some recommendations on temperature and cook times. I have seen a number of different options on this forum however I was wondering if anyone had any particular experience with the masterbuilt 30' and whole chickens and would like to hear what has been successful for you. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I like to smoke my chickens hot temps around 325*. I know that you can't get the MES that high so go as high as you can. This will get you a crisp skin. Cook until you get an internal temp of 165* in the thigh. For a whole bird at 250-275* this should take about 2hr-3hrs. For a quicker cook you can spatchcock the bird too.
