which meat probe thermometer to buy?

looking for a meat probe to stick into chicken during an upcoming competition...want the kind that has the stainless steel probe and the wire thats a few feet long so it keeps a constant reading while the door of my smoker is closed. Want to spend $50.00 or less will buy off ebay i want one that is accurate nothing to fancy which one is a good one? thanks!

I have gotten some cheap ones from Wally world and have seen them at Lowes and Home Depot as well......but they are hit and miss sometimes......I have a couple I use........

However for a more long term use....I would go Maverick .......just ordered 2 .............. Todd has them for $60 ea........ Amazin Products is a site sponsor.... There is usually a link on the page somewhere.....

X2 on the 732, but they come with short probes. Longer probes are available.

X4, ET-732 has not let me down yet. Slightly above your $50 mark but worth it IMO.
