Yep -- best thing I've found is have their ads emailed to you and be prepared to go buy meat to have on hand.

Fareway can be great but the best deals I seem to find are at Sam's Club

Restaurant Depot is my first choice but about 70 miles from me in Milwaukee, so unless I have something else to do or am buying large quantity I shop local.  We also have a Costco, still about a 40 mile drive but we go there every 6-8 weeks usually.  But, lately, my favorite is the Piggly Wiggly.  When they have ribs, butts, whatever on sale I have been calling them and asking the butcher if they would sell them to me in the cryovac package.  They are happy to, no work for them except to print a label.  Now the guy has gotten to know me and when he sees me he tells me about specials coming up, gives me deals and "pre-sells" me the specials if the meat is in while I'm there.  I haven't asked for a special order yet but am considering trying my hand at bacon and having him order me the bellies.
