I expected supplies to be depleted, but the big question was - just how much...whelp... they had about 10 briskets - all were solid unbending fatty masses. and NO beef ribs (the dino ribs). which was what I really wanted. several prime ribs and rib roasts but I wasn't in the mood for ~$200 roast...

Lessons learned.

The upshot from 12.24 was the Kroger beef sell off...but I froze all that.

That sucks. I read a post on here probably over a year ago about ribeye cap steaks that someone got as Costco. I cant remember who posted it but they looked insanely good. I keep an eye out whenever I go by there.

I haven't been by the store since Christmas except to get beer but I plan to go tomorrow and check. Hoping to find some good steals on manager clearance.

Went to Sam's today. No good sales on beef. Kroger after that and they still had some rib roast and ny strip roasts half off. Meat was scarce in both stores unless you wanted chicken

Same... oh well, I have frozen cooks and a couple frozen items to use. just was hankering for the beef ribs. Soon enough!

I was at both Sam's and Costco today both had lots of high dollar beef cuts but not on sale and prices were high. I did buy a brisket flat and a pork belly but that was it for meat. Neither of them had beef ribs here either. Believe it or not neither store had the 2 or 5 lb blocks of mild cheddar cheese in fact no blocks of mild cheddar at all in either store.
