Where do you route your thermometer wires?

Greetings,

I have an MES 30 and just got my Maverick ET-732 thermometer.   I was thinking of running the wires out the smoke vent but have heard of others just closing them in the doors.   Any suggestions on what works best?

I run mine through the top vent.  It stays open anyway.
