So...I may or may not have left my masterbuilt out in the rain, and am now in the market for a new smoker.

On a really tight budget, but I dont think I want to buy another masterbuilt. Was thinking of the pitboss from walmart...but then I came across the zgrills on ebay. In a perfect world id buy a rectec or GMG...but I dont have the cash for the bigger units id want. You can get a full size zgrill for about the same price as the portable/smaller smokers from companies like GMG.

I hear it is a newer company and that its basically a knockoff traeger from what ive read. Anyone have one or experience with one? Hoping they hold temp and smoke good....whats the current word since they have been out a little while now?

No experience with them but budget wise I think from what the crowd has confessed, Pit boss either regular or the newer vertical would serve your purpose. Good luck with whatever you decide.and keep us all posted.

I have read the same as you that they are more than likely produced in the same factory as some of the other brands offered out there. It is tempting to get one to test the waters of a pellet grill, but if it can't hold temp on a long cook I might as well just stick with my electric and an amps.

I am hoping to see some real time reviews first but am really hoping to score a nice used rectec at the end of the summer, when people realize that it is not supposed to work like a lp gas grill and move on.

i use mine like a gas grill ofter, even put a nice sear on it or before. Have open flames fueled by real wood that has been pelletized

From what I have just looked they are not that much cheaper than a Grilla silverback (at least the larger sizes) and you can't get a wifi with the Z?
