I was reading the post about turning spare ribs into St. Louis ribs and made me want to try that ASAP as Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m sure my ribs would be a hell of a lot better and easier to cook that way.

So my question is, what is the cheapest price youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve ever seen for ribs? They are on sale now for 1.99/lb and that seems like a bit too much. Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d think with all the bone theyâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d need to be atleast $.99/lb for me to buy them. I was wondering how long I should hold out for the good price. Whenever I can get them for a pretty good deal I think Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]m gonna spend a considerable amount and stock up.

Thanks for the help,
Gabe

I think $1.99 is a pretty fair deal. Look at Baby Backs...almost $4.00. and sure there is not as much meat on spares but they are still RIBS! and still DELICIOUS! Give 'em a try. You will not be disapointed.

I'm with you on the asap part. I have two slabs in the freezer which is why I originaly searched for the how to post today. The weather is sposed to be pretty nasty here this weekend, but that's never stopped me before.

My Costco sells spare ribs for $1.99 and brisket for $1.69.

Both are great for me becasue I used to have a terrible ribeye habit until I discovered smokin'

My wife just bought 10 lbs. at .99 cents a pound. Usually they average $1.59 per lb.

I get mine all day for $1.69 a pound from the meat man. I can catch them in Chicago at a meat processing place for $1.39. So far I just Q them hole after alittle trimmin but now have thought about the st. louis as I can catch some vittles for the cook in the middle of a long session.

Bout $1.49 is as cheap as it gets around here

If you are fortunate enough to have a local butcher in town, compare their cuts of meat vs the supermarket. You may pay a little more in price at the butcher, however the meat is usually fresh and the quality can be superior to what is available at the piggly wiggly.

To answer your post - $1.99/lb at Publix is the cheapest I've seen.

The .99 a pound for either brisket or spare ribs are gone I am afraid. They are a victim to high shipping costs. If you see either of those at that price it is just a ploy by the store to get you in and spend money on things you normally wouldn't buy. Around here the average price is 1.69 to 1.99 a pound.Mind you to get either at 1.69 what you are getting is 2 frozen slabs in cry-o-vac or a single entire brisket in cry-o-vac. But as was already said, when I want to cook something really good, I never go to a supermarket or any big food stores. What I raise in my backyard and aged at my local processor is what I dig into. If I don't have it, the processor always has extras in the case that I can buy.
