I have a charcoal and wood smoker I replaced the themomoter. The hole is bigger than what I need for the new Themomoter so I got a double sided high temp tape for the time being. I am losing heat and smoke where it is not sealed tight. Is there a High temp caulk I could buy to use. Thanks for any info.

You can also probably find a bushing at a "done it ta yerself store" (love that Trav!) that will account for the extra diameter...that is if the old one and the new one both have a threaded base. I don't know what you have there, so it is just a thought.

try flat washers if threads are long enough.
