The Allman Brothers anthem, Whipping Post.

This is with Duane. This band was great. But what if Duane had not ridden that motorcycle ?

My all time favorite band, The last time I saw them was 25 yrs ago.
My best friend's babies momma was the booking agent for Konocti Harbor Inn, which had a great outdoor venue right on Clear Lake in Norcal, my plumbers union owned the resort back then which meant we actually owned it. Anyhow, I got free backstage passes for my girlfriend, now wife, and I. We got to meet the whole band, I was in heaven, we got to meet Jimmy Herring who was standing in for a sick Dicky Bett's, and Derek Trucks, what a solo he performed that night.
Nether of these videos are from that show, just an example of their playing.

What a night that must have been!!
Those guys are /were certainly masters of the 6 string! So smooth and deliberate licks.

Dan I found this live. Its pretty good. Even the audio sound good. Tony Iommi is wearing some kind of finger caps I have never seen before.

I love that video, Brian, I haven't seen it in a long time.
Thanks for posting it.
Here's the man himself telling the story about his fingertips.

Here is a throw back:

Ritchie Blackmore, is one of the best guitar players ever, if not the best.
Poor guy is suffering in a nursing home now.
Brian, I saved money from my paper route to buy that album.
I played it until my parents were sick of it.
We are really showing our age now. :emoji_confounded: :emoji_laughing:

I saw them last week in Berkeley.

for me it is the final night of the Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals west coast tour in LA. Fifth show in six days. Drove from Seattle to Los Angeles.so much fun.

You got a lot more energy than I .

TTB is releasing a new album in Sept, its a cover of the Mad Dogs and Englishman tour. Will be interesting.

I notice the last three songs of this Red Rocks set, are songs from Mad Dogs.

They changed their set list a lot for this show. And they've gone back and dug up some early stuff of theirs.

Man I will be glad when I get a new AVR! Listening to this old one not doing it for me. I found an open box Onkyo TX-RZ50 for a good price on Ebay this morning but I been bit on an open box surge protector last week that was very used now I gun shy!

Rhiannon Giddens...

If you've seen the JP Morgan Chase commercial, she's the one singing "The green grass grows all around"...

Finally the AVR I wanted to replace the fried one went on Sale this morning! I been really really been missing my Music videos. Not even been watching many movies as missing the video and audio formats with this old avr. Cant wait to crank it up again!
