First one on the list, Trapeze, was maybe the first concert I attended, hard to remember that long ago, might've been Rare Earth, IDK. And someone put the poster for the concert on the net, whoever they were, I thank them.

We went to see Trapeze. Poster says May 27, that was in 1972

Good memories. I took a cute little red head.

Trapeze – “Black Cloud”

Glenn Hughes’ pre-Deep Purple band Trapeze never got the widespread recognition it deserved. “Black Cloud” is a groovy blues rock tune with a funky rhythm section and soaring vocals, making it a true lost classic. This is a band and song that more people should hear.

Been listening here lately to alot of Floyd, Zeppelin, Paul Butterfield, Free....

WOWWWWWW..... I couldn't wait any longer.. Just watched the whole thing...

By far... BY FAR ... THE BEST video in this whole thread... That was totally awesome... Thanks for posting Keith... I've not seen that before...

Y'all can't tell me they (Skynyrd) weren't the best band out there... Not one bad song did they do...

BTW... Did I mentioned I like them ??
Other bands of the era say they were the most well practiced band of all. Ronnie Van Zant was feared by everyone, including the band. Everything they did was perfection.

Dogman is one of my favorite songs. I had to clip it to get rid of the stupid bridge though. I never understood why a band would ruin a serious jam with such "fairydiddle" stuff. Once I did the research on Kings X and learned of Pinnik's "lifestyle", the theatrics made sense.

Black the sky is also an excellent song

Until I just recalled "Black The Sky" I posted above, this song had been incessantly replaying in my head for days.

Cry Of Love was one of those bands few knew of, but an excellent first album, some songs of which are, and will remain permanently in my mix

Remember the Midnight Special?
Had the please of the seeing them twice and always a great performance!
And check out a young Charlie Daniels about 20 min in!

Just in case you didn't know, distilled spirits have no carbs. They have around 100 calories per 1.5 oz, but it's a myth that distilled spirits are loaded with sugars, etc..

We were on the low carb train for around 4-5 years I guess it was and we both lost 40lbs before we cried uncle and had a real pizza. It took me some weeks to look around and quit assuming to discover I was wrong about having to give up booze.

Sure, beer, wine and fortified liquor like Kahlua, etc. with added sugars are not good for a low carb diet (I'm talking keto, which is trying to be in actual ketosis, like 25 grams or less net a day), but if you like bourbon, for instance, if you allow for the calories in your plan, it's totally keto...with no carby mixers! Of course getting a buzz can make you break down and eat something you shouldn't! If you have willpower when you are drinking and stay away from the carby foods, you are good.

I was never really a big sugary soda drinker and only like a couple beers at a sitting (always bloated me) so it wasn't that hard for me. Even today, allowing more carbs, I still usually drink vodka, with a couple dribbles of lime juice and carbonated water (I have a soda Stream) over the rocks before dinner; then bourbon/whiskey after dinner. I might drink 400-1,000 calories a day (I really like my bourbon), but aside of that taste of lime juice, nearly no carbs from alcohol usually. I DO splurge on some beer or wine on occasion because we are "off the wagon" with carbs generally.

Unless you only drank/drink carby alcoholic beverages, there is no reason to not have "alcohol" if you like "alcohol".

We've done keto before, I lost 30#s in 2021, and both of us have lost the same 20#'s several times.

We do skinny margaritas and my bloody mary's only have 7 carbs. Bourbon and water is carb free. There's also Serge seltzer, that's 8% abv and 2 carbs. And occasionally we drink low carb.

But we've found alcohol slows down or stops our weight loss. It really messes with water weight. It would take a medical doctor to explain that, all I know is what I see on the scales every morning. We lose weight faster if we stay away from alcohol.

And we both want to lose the 20#'s ASAP, and get back to putting it on again :emoji_laughing:

Ah yes, alcohol CAN affect weight in strange ways for different people. Debate out there on if, how and why, but like you said, you notice it on the scale...for you...but every morning? That's torture 😬 I had to stop that...it'll drive ya nuts.

It's like I explained to my doctor (who has some fat around the belt line himself) when I dropped everything that was on me including my shoes before they weighed me at my last physical, "if you have intentionally lost weight, its an insult for them to weight you with 7lbs of stuff on you!". I wasn't thinking last time and it ticked me off, they put that on your record!...I was ready this time and weighed in at just under 187...I was simulating spiking a football! Yes! I always weigh myself before dressing and when I'm ready to walk out the door so I know how my scale compares to theirs. 185 was my crater weight after losing 40lbs, so I'm generally happy with anything below 190 these days considering not really low carbing (I'm about 5-10 1/2"). I DO get the scale sensitivity!

I probably said all this before but hate to see a man go without his liquor!

Anyway, rock on! I'm still out there playing air guitar with my yard tools wearing my headphones before any alcohol:emoji_laughing: Even wearing a heart monitor these last couple weeks...aint gonna stop the rock...
