That was on December 6, 1983.

At that time, I did not know anything about SRV. All I knew was what was played on the radio and he got no air time here in OKC.

It wasn't till maybe mid to late 80's that I heard his music. And then, it wasn't very much. The blues/rock genre did not really exist. It was not a good decade for Clapton or the Allman Bros. What I mostly heard was pop music.

And in that decade, MTV really got rolling. There had to be a video or it did not get played.
