I think im going for it anyways on Thursday, Turkey breast and smoked mac and cheese. Kinda hope the majority of the snow comes tomorrow.

It will be fine.

We don't have much snow down here however, in the cold months we do get temps in the 20's and 30's with wind. When that happens, all I do is pull out the blue tarp and build a wind break for the stick burner. Works great and smokes pretty much like a normal smoking day. The wind is what gets ya!

I was going to smoke a couple breasts tomorrow for Thursday. Forecast is now rain and 40-50 mph winds. Looks like I’ll be getting up early Thursday and doing them now.

thanks guys! should be an interesting day for sure. Stay tuned...

Well, I won't have to deal with snow down here, but the next three days will be rainy and windy.
The turkey breast is going into the oven instead.

Don't let the weather dictate your plans! I'm in So Cal and although it's going to rain and be super windy where I'm at... we're still smokin the turkey! Like they said, just shield the smoker from the wind and you'll be fine.

Ill be honest...sometimes i hate the snow. I hate to commute in the snow ...i hate scraping ice off the truck ....i hate having to wear a ton of clothes to stay warm in my deer stand... but....one thing i really enjoy is beeing out side smoking food in the snow. Its sooo quiet and peaceful. I like to have fires in the snow too. also no need for a beer cooler. That makes it nice too! Lol! Do the smoke and dont let it get to ya! Enjoy it for what it is.

It is an electric smoker and my wife will not let me use it in the rain.
I guess she's not ready to be a widow just yet even after 25 years of marriage.
Smoking under the patio cover is out too. It is enclosed.

Sounds like a good plan sandy, especially the smoked mac and cheese will warm you up for sure. Somewhere between 6 - 12 inches of snow here by morning and winds gusting to 40 all night. But at the current time... thunder snow, just seems weird being in blizzard warning and having thunder and lightning!

I use a garden shed to shield from the weather and wind. If I only used the MES under ideal conditions I wouldn’t be able to use the smoker 90% of the time. I’m at 4900’ in the Rockies where the wind is always blowing not to mention crappy weather is the norm.

I'm so glad my wife likes it when the garage smells like a smokehouse, always windy here also. Probably why they have put so many windmills up around the area. I have put my mes 30 inside my big smoker to get it out of the weather so I could smoke... where there's a will there's a way

I have been looking at eventually getting one of those large plastic sheds for the smoker.
Of course I'll need to run conduit etc.
Unfortunatley, the plan has been placed on the back burner due to more pressing priorities.
