@jimvgt Welcome to the forum. I have only used my ThermoWorks Billows on my WSM a couple of times so I'm no expert. I didn't want to drill holes in my cooker so I went with the SS dog bowl mounting method. If you're not familiar, it covers one of the bottom vents and is secured with a toggle bolt. The fan is then mounted to the dog bowl. It worked very well. The reason I don't use it more is because, I just enjoy the process of smoking. Hope this helps.
