Waterproofing Maverick ET73 probes

Has anyone tried waterproofing these probes with shrink tubing, the stuff used for insulating wire, where the metal probe meets the wire? Wondering if this would work.

that should work great actually, only problem is after a while the heat might dry them out causing the tubing to crack/fall off but short term it should work excellent.

teflon shrink tubing should work.  It has a temp range up to 500*.  http://www.electroinsulation.com/hst5.htm

Yes, I remember that.

It was Permatex sealant mentioned by viper1 in this thread......
