I am thinking about putting a water pan in my gmg to even out the temps. a little. no matter what I try with the baffle placement the right side either runs significantly hotter or colder. I thought if I ran it on the hotter side and put a water pan under the grease catcher on the far right it would keep the temps down a little and make it more even with the rest of the cooker. Anyone try this in a pellet cooker?

I have a Jim Bowie

I have a Jim Bowie as well with the same issues.  You can remove the baffle all together.  I did this and my sides are even with a +50 in the center.  I just received the left baffle from GMG and when that it is in place I can have the right baffle in and get the same even side side with +50 in the center.

Reading other forums, there are two other ideas that people have gotten to work for them.  One is to move the right baffle about 2 inches away from the firepot.  Other idea is if you have both baffles keep them in place and stuff the vents on the baffles with foil to block them.

I am going to try these idea either this weekend or next.

Hope the ideas can help you as well.  If all else fails call Neil or Travis at GMG, they are two great guys that are friendly and very knowledgeable.

Try placing the baffle in the middle.  That should even out your temperature.
