I feel your pain, but look at the good side, no more wasps.

The plethora of advice here is boggling.. This is a food preperation surface I wouldn't take it to a car wash the soap they use is not designed to be food safe it's formulated to remove bug guts and road tar off a car... Purple Power is a great degreaser but has way too many caustic chemicals in it to even consider using on something that I woudl cook food on for my family and customers... While the bug spray is bad why on earth would you compound the issue by using caustic chemicals. Get some Simple Green cut it 1:1 with water and a good brush... grab the garden hose and rise well.. Then do a couple HOT burns and re-season it.

LOL, I can see her face now: "but I was just helping you, Daddy!" HOW CAN ANYBODY POSSIBLY GET MAD ABOUT THAT???

I think that if you hit it with some degreaser as mentioned earlier, scrub it, and give it a long burn, then you'll be fine and won't kill anyone.

Thanks for all the information everyone. Hopefully on Sunday I can start the cleaning process, it's been a wet dreary Texas over the past couple days and tomorrow we have a softball tournament in Mt. Pleasant... so hopefully barring any more issues I can do this Sunday and re-season her over the week.

Simple green and a good power wash a couple hot hot burns and a re-season and hopefully I'm good to go.

Thank you all for your help, advice and commentary.

My daughter calls it Ol' waspy now. haha

Oh man this gave me a good chuckle. You should mix some orajel in some sauce and let the mouth go numb, blame it on the insecticide
