With those random sized pieces of wood you might like and benefit from a fuel basket to consolidate your coals and wood. Here's a good example from Lone Star Grillz. Their baskets may not fit your smoker but it's an idea for ya. Of course they might fit but check the measurements.

Thanks, yeah keeping the coal bed was a bit of a challenge. I could make one of those pretty easy, might be my next project. I've also been considering making this removable extension.

New to the forum hope this is in the correct place.

I am in the market for an offset smoker. I was eying the Brazos DLX and I am having a hard time finding it locally. I've seen them as little as $1,700.00 or less, some are listed higher. Many sites list them as unavailable, or shipping puts them well over $2,000.00.

$2,000.00 is kind of my threshold I'd go higher but I'm not looking to go too much higher. My question is, is there anywhere "local" to Charlotte NC (1-2hours) that has smokers I can look at and in my price range. I want 1/4 thick steel as that seems to be a minimum thickness, and the Brazos hit both my marks. I’ve looked for used a little bit but I’d prefer new, and while researching options like a jenny mod ios minecraft download I’m still undecided. Any ideas or experiences? I am willing to order online but I’d still like to be close to my budget including shipping. I thought about the OC G2 but I’ve read pluses and minuses about the insulated box for a backyard smoker. Open to different offset models in my price range.
Yes, check with local stores like Academy Sports, grill shops, and outdoor equipment dealers around Charlotte. They often have offset smokers you can see in person and some will order one in for you within your budget. Finding the Brazos DLX locally or a similar heavy steel model under $2,000 is possible if you call around.
