I started off with a New Your Strip steak and a Ball Tip Roast, and was looking for a different marinade to try.  However with low on funds I had to make something with what I have around the house.  I stumbled on the following recipe and decided to give it a shot on both pieces.

http://www.justapinch.com/recipes/main-course/chicken/vodka-steak-marinade.html   (my changes noted)

1/3 c vodka
1/4 c fresh squeezed lime juice
3 Tbsp brown sugar
3 Tbsp black pepper (lowered to 1 1/2 tbsp)
1/4 c olive oil, extra virgin
1 Tbsp sea salt (used Kosher salt)
3 large cloves garlic, minced (doubled this, as I love garlic)
3 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
2 Tbsp dried thyme (did 1 tsp as this is all I had)

Mix in a glass bowl with a whisk.  Marinade as you normally do for 12 hrs.

New York Steak prior to marinade

Marinated for 12 hours

Due to time limitations, I did the New York on the grill.

Steam asparagus, twice backed potato with garlic then topped with cheese and bacon.

Not in shot - dessert - Hagen-Dazs ice cream

Close up.

I must say that I was weary of this recipe but it came out with a nice gentle zing from the lime juice a subtle undertone from the vodka.  it was not overpower but more enhancing.

Sorry for nor more Q-view, but I do have the Ball Tip marinading for a few more days.  I will try my best to get more Q-view on that one and add it to this thread.
