So after debating what to smoke for Saturday. I went with turkey. While all the Ribs, Pork Butts and Briskets were going on. I thought turkey also deserves the spotlight.
Didn't do a brine with this one. Just used a good rub in the bird instead.

This one was just over 12lbs.
Smoked with apple pellets using my AMNPS. Smoked just over 6 hours at an average temp of 250.

This smoker doesn't do rubber skin. Nice and crispy.
So while this was going on smoking. I stuck in a pan of brussel sprouts to smoke.

These went in the last 2 hrs before pulling the turkey. Bacon, red onion and some seasoning was added before they went in to smoke.
The last thing to add to the dinner was German Potato salad. Really don't see it much in here on the plates of food being shown. So I made this since it would be better than any store bought. If you can get it in the store.
So this was my plate for dinner tonight.

One for me and one for the Misses.
Hope you all enjoy.

Looks great! My MES40 is controlled by a PID controller as well. Works perfectly.

Yeah. I don't eat the skin either. Not a fan of it. Even on chicken. But the Misses likes it.

Looks like a fine bird you got going. I'm not too into the skin myself, but my wife always claims the first slice. She loves it.

Great color on that turkey.

Point for sure.

Thanks everyone. Ever since I got this electric smoker it has done crispy skin. Its the sportsman elite model. My MES30 doesn't make crispy skin and I would end up putting it in the oven to get it that way. I don't add liquid to the pan either when using it. I wounder if Bear or others here see the same results with theirs as I see with mine.
