Went to the livestock auction today. Hint as to what's next:

Sad to hear about the dobies! We're on our 2nd one... they are unique!
It was sad for us but thay lived very long lives. Brother and sister (different litters). Mr Boy was black and tan and Belle was red and rust. He lived to 15 and she to 14. Pretty sure the longest lived Dobie in the books is 16. He was AKC registered, she was not.

They are extremely unique dogs, we called them "velcro dogs", they wanted to be in physical contact with us at all times even if it was just leaning on our legs. We've had 3 total, Gretchen died of gastric torsion, horrible. Getting another in a few years.

Old at this point. Always the bbq enthusiasts though, had to keep an eye on them.

Goats to start, will eventually introduce sheep. Hoping the goats clear some of our woods, the brush is pretty thick back there.
Goats are voracious eaters. Hope they like your brush. If you're planning to raise them get the bucks de-scented. Well maybe not. Might keep the boys away from your daughters?

Get some cows as well, will great for the smokers.
It's up for consideration, but we're only on just over 5 acres...we're thinking of raising 1, maybe 2 per year. But its going to be a few years, as about 3 of our acres is heavily wooded. We plant to clear it for pasture over the next year or so...
