Earlier tonight I got word from my folks in Iowa that a Tornado devistated a BOy Scout camp In little souix, Iowa... thus far there is allegedly 4 dead and 40 wounded....

My purpose of this thread is to ask for prayers and thoughts for those poor children and their families ....and hope that none of those involved are loved ones of our Iowa Brothers and sisters....I cant imagine

DEAR LORD! I certainly pray for those involved. This has been an incredible weather year. We woke up to about 3-4 in. of heavy white stuff this morning. I can deal with that though. Not much to do in the face of a cyclone.

Traggic and I pray for all of them and thier families in this tough time

Prayers are in order.

You got it, The Scout Camp is about an hr drive from where I live, I am hoping that my neighbors' boy was'nt there camping, will find out today

EME, Everyone is O.K thanks for your concern, the weather went around us, People East and North of us got the rain and bad stuff

My prayers and thoughts are with everyone in Iowa and Minnesota that are affected by the storms in the mid-west. CNN reported that this will be the worst flooding in Des Moines, IA in 15 years .... flooding mixed with tornadoes .... hope all this ends soon for those IA folks ...

What a shame, youngens out tryin ta enjoy life. Truly a sad occurence, material thins can be replaced, homes rebuilt, cars bought, pictures taken to replace those lost, buy a life can never be again. Our thoughts go out to those poor families.

I was in Scouting fer more years then I can really remember, started out in cub scouts then moved ta boy scouts, became a leader then joined the district volunteers. We had some close calls with storms at our camps, never lost a scout thankfully. I don't know how I could/would explain to parents the fact that there son was lost.

I have been tryin ta think of a way to put an understandin to why a supreme bein would allow this. I guess fer myself I wan't to look at it this way: The lord (don't matter which one yall beleive in) needed four fine upstandin youg men to be the color guard at his gates to escort our finest soldiers through to heaven. I can see these four young men now, dressed in there uniforms, determination showin on there faces, pride an honor in there eyes, doin what they beleived in even at this young age.

I hope this is the way things are in the after life, these young men an many others in any uniform man er woman, boy er girl deserve the best for doin what they beleive in.

May the journey be fast an safe. May peace be with those who have lossed a loved one.

Tip.

I too went through the ranks in cub scouts, weblows, boy scouts and I'm eagle scout. I spent a lot of time at that campground and have some very fond memories there. The pictures are absolutely terrifying! 3 of the 4 boys killed were from Omaha. My thoughts and prayers are with these families and boys as they deal with the gravity of this situation.

Prayers sent from this campfire also. I recieved this picture in an email today. I was told it is the same tornado that went through the campground. I can't validate this, but thought I would post the picture anyway.
