So I’m making 6 racks of ribs in a friends pellet traegor electric which I’ve never used before. So it has a dial for “smoke” then it goes in temps 180, 225, 250,275 etc. so my question is do I use the “smoke” setting first for an hour then set the temp to finish cooking? I’m just noticing it’s not putting out the smoke I’m used to on my master built propane smoker I use at home.

Set it to whatever temp you want.. 250 or 275 - forget the smoke setting - Pellet Smokers will not produce the smoke that wood produces.

I have an older Texas model. I smoke ribs at 250 degrees. My family prefer baby backs over St Louis, so my cook is 2-1.5-1. I use squeeze butter, honey, Tiger Sauce and a tablespoon of Apple juice in the wrap. They come out tender, but not fall off the bone. A good bite through texture. This does produce a nice smoke ring.

Late to the party but I run mine a hour or 2 at lowest temp to create more smoke, some folks are just haters I reckon lol
